Erotic Romance is different from erotica in the focus of the story. In erotic romance, the focus is on the characters' development and the development of romantic relationships, as opposed to erotica where the focus is generally on the personal development of one character usually through sexual encounters. Graphic sex scenes are used to advance the development of the romantic relationship. This is a growing subgenre of romance and can be quite hard to address in the readers advisory interview. If you believe there is a desire for this genre of story in your community, you may want to test the waters by developing a small test collection and tracking its circulation statistics for a period of six months.
